I'm currently having the following conversation by e-mail.

A: You're using the wrong e-mail address.
me: sorry. What's the right e-mail address?
A: not this one.
me: Okay. What about this one?
A: Don't use that one either. You're being obstructive.
me: So what's the right e-mail address?
A: You're using the wrong e-mail address.

Well—1,300 signatures to go. If you agree with it, please sign it! The petition is being backed by the Incorporated Society of Musicians too.

Some really nice collective action is happening. It's like the spirit of the Olympics!

The Nottingham gig was lovely, just lovely, even though there was a stage [hate stages]. Really needed it—and thanks for coming if you did!

But this week coming is lots of work with Arun Ghosh in Shipley and London; and then a gig in Newcastle with Ntshuks Bonga and Andy Champion! In that time I'll be working on letters for that there petition, which reached 4000 signatures last night; and perhaps doing some music writing too...

There's something extremely soothing about kernel compiling. Well, when it goes right, of course. I'm compiling a new one now, while typing this. It's one of the few tasks in using my laptop that slows me right down: usually [and I imagine like most people] I'll have my browser open with several tabs. Sometimes I'll be listening to music. And working on something else. But waiting for the kernel to build suspends my urgency to complete everything at the same time in a way no other computing tasks does.

It's actually quotable, too! It was a fantastic night. Cannot wait to get back to the North–East again.
