I've just through Trevor Watts that the master percussionist Nana Tsiboe has died. I was lucky enough to work with Nana quite a few times when he and Nana Appiah played at The Drum in Birmingham; those sessions were really important to my development. Nana led more through inference and trust than by direction; I'd never experienced that before, and at first it was unsettling. But with time I sensed just how supportive that was. Very saddened by this.
RIP Nana Tsiboe
