Raise The Roof!

Nottingham Contemporary, Weekday Cross, Nottingham NG1 2GB, England

donations welcome

Raise the Roof! is making a big noise about homelessness at venues in and around Nottingham throughout October 2011.

The aims of Framework's first-ever music and performance festival are simple - give people a great time; increase understanding of homelessness and what Framework is doing to tackle it; raise much-needed funds.

The Raise the Roof! Festival Music Weekender at Nottingham's major international art gallery and performance space explores the connections between contemporary live and electronic music and will showcase some of the most exciting musicians working today.

The aim is to bring together some of the best Electronic, Soul, Jazz, World music, without boundaries, in one weekend, in a great contemporary performance space.

Based in Nottingham, the charity Framework supports over 8,000 homeless and vulnerable people each year across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and elsewhere in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.

We help rough sleepers, people in need of emergency accommodation or fleeing abuse and domestic violence; care leavers; people fighting alcohol and drug addiction and people with enduring mental health problems. We provide training to help people live independently, skills training to help people get jobs, and employment opportunities.
