Is improvisation more creative in long-standing groups or one-off collaborations? Adventures in Sound finds out with an afternoon of short sets from top improvisers, including a rare UK appearance from bassist Paul Rogers (Mujician), playful improvisation from gaNNets, featuring Fyfe Dangerfield, best known as front-man for indie-rock band Guillemots, alongside drummer Steve Noble, bassist Dominic Lash and reeds players Chris Cundy and Alex Ward, plus other Festival artists.

In the closing set, a new collaboration brings celebrated Estonian guitarist/ free-improviser Jaak Sooäär together with Glaswegian saxophonist Raymond MacDonald, a soloist of boundless energy and imagination.

This is a London Jazz Festival performance in association with BBC Radio 3.
