Superbly engaging site with art, culture, great music, Canada style... what more do you need?
Lit & Phil independent library
It's rare nowadays that we get chance or space to read or think - spaces such as these are either sorely missing from town planning, or invaded and polluted with the usual modern distractions. Not so in Newcastle.
While I was up there for a gig with Dave and Josh, I took a wander around the city with its delicate balance of old and new architecture, and stumbled across this wondrous place - a subscription library, quiet yet welcoming, an extensive music collection that is well worth the membership fee.
I didn't get the time to look around it properly the first time, so when I was up there again with Alex Hawkins I went again - here is a place that treats quiet as an important aspect of life; it is a microcosm of serenity and reflection. Not only are there hundreds of years of inspiration and knowledge accumulated in books with a real history [some of them survived a fire!], there is also the space to read them. Time stands still and takes a load off its feet. You can even get a coffee in there! If you are in Newcastle this place is well worth a visit.

Lovely, subtle shapes and shades from this talented ceramicist.
n: The Way of The Ninja
I am totally addicted to this - I have it on my laptop and I cannot stop playing it. But I DO like ninjas. And gold.
Someone Once Told Me
This is a great photography project from my good friend and journalist Mario Cacciottolo.
TangleCrafts
Really interesting and well-written craft blog from my wife. And I'm not just saying that - the most creative thing I can do with yarn is tie knots, but the things she comes up with are amazing.
Web Sudoku
That's right, I'm hooked too... although I remember them from a book about number puzzles and words called Oddities... still, good brain exercise!
